Our Story

Gemma and I are a Husband-and-Wife Team from radically different parts of the world. Gemma from Christchurch, New Zealand, and me (Justin) from the Eastside of Detroit, Michigan.

We have similarities and shared experiences … sure. But what we also recognize is that we have vastly different perspectives and communication styles that can be conflicting. What Married couple doesn’t right?!

As we navigated our first year of marriage, one message or theme was loud above all others to guide us…” Just be a good mate!” Beyond how adorable hearing this said in a Kiwi accent is, the message, although simple enough for a child to understand, is something adults need now more than ever.

 

This verbal NorthStar or talisman has encouraged us to strive and approach everyday problems/tasks in a beneficial, positive, and moral way not only in our marriage but outwardly with family, friends, and society alike.

Creating this brand was a public proclamation and daily reminder to consciously improve our connections, support each other’s wellbeing, and ultimately, serve a greater purpose of change.

By supporting or wearing this message, you are now part of a community, no matter your geography or walk of life, that are aligned to improve your life and those around you by simply being a “good mate.”
